NSW: Teenager injured in police car chase
New South Wales Police Minister JOHN WATKINS says a police chase which ended in a crash
on the New South Wales south coast overnight will be reviewed.
A teenager is suffering from suspected spinal injuries after the car in which he was
travelling hit a tree during the chase in Wollongong at about 9.45pm (AEST) last night.
Mr WATKINS has told reporters that the chase will be reviewed to check whether police
protocols were followed.
But he says the government will retain police pursuits because they're an important
part of police work.
Four young males were inside in the car.
Police have arrested two of them and the other two haven't been found.
One of the males was taken to Wollongong Hospital with suspected spinal injuries and
is in a stable condition.
The second youth is assisting police with their inquiries.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Wollongong police.
